Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Qingdao Hi-tech Zone).
The Qingdao Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone is a national high-tech zone established in May 1992 with the approval of the State Council. In 2000, it was designated a National High-tech Product Export Base. In 2001, it was designated a National Advanced High-tech Industrial Development Zone. In 2002, it was designated a National Torch Program Software Industry Base and a University Science and Technology Park. The Jiaozhou Bay North Park of the Qingdao Hi-tech Zone, with a planned area of 66 square kilometers, is located in Qingdao’s Hongdao Economic Zone.
